Cooking After School
Starting this winter, Chef Willis will start a new program focusing on food preparation micro-skills. After school, area teens will prepare a gourmet meal, which they will share with a parent at the conclusion of the class. The purpose of these classes will be to give instruction to the students on basic culinary techniques, (e.g. what the left hand does, flipping the pan skills, mise-en-place, appropriate table settings, and table manners). In addition, the students will learn how to blend the theoretical with the practical, which will enable them to take their culinary skills to the next level - how to cook and serve more intuitively. Ultimately, they will become more self-sufficient and independent in the kitchen.
Program starts at 4 and dinner is served at 6
Upcoming dates: Thursdays; April 3, May 1 and June 5
