Chef Willis' Cooking School
Young adults are a focus of the majority of programs offered by The Chef Willis Cooking School. An awareness of the existing gaps between what formal education provides, and what the real world requires, has been the driving force behind all of Chef Willis' offerings.
As Chef in Residence at the Real Canadian Superstore, Chef Willis instructs teens in the ways of the kitchen on Saturdays with his Run a Restaurant for a Day program. This program is consistently sold out weeks in advance. Another class is Dinner for Two, an after school program were children cook dinner for one of their parents, who then join them for dinner. This year we are embarking on a new program for high school students called The Chef Willis Culinary Challenge, in which two teams of three are pitted against each other and judged on their work ethic and culinary expertise. Finally, we do have an offering for adults, with the Adult Demo and Dinner, on the first Monday of the month. These classes are theme-based, where recent offerings included; Senuous Sauces, Beans and Greens, Knife Skills, and East Indian Fare.
As a culinary coach, Chef Willis will come into your home bearing all the food he will need to instruct you and your friends with the Eat and Teach Dinner Party. His guided wine, beer, and liquor tastings are as educational, as they are entertaining. If you would like to improve your knife technique, invite Chef Willis into your home for a Knife Skills Seminar, where he will sharpen your knives while instructing you in the benefits of garnishing your plate. Invite your friends and make it a party! Chef Willis also stages corporate demonstrations, seminars, and team building workshops.
