Chef Willis' Cooking School

Teen Cooking Classes

Chef Willis has made the education of teens the focus of his cooking school. Trying to bridge the gaps between what schools provide and what the world requires has been his driving force. He aims to teach life skills to teens so that they will be more self-sufficient in the home.

To this end, Chef Willis runs his Run a Restaurant for a Day workshop at The Real Canadian SuperStore once a month on a Saturday running from 9-4. Over the last year, this program has been consistently sold out, with many participants returning for multiple sessions.

This program approaches culinary instruction in a unique manner. The teens brainstorm their menus for the day, shop for their ingredients, carry out all preparation and cooking of their items, have lunch and snacks, and then package 4 portions of their dinner meal. Nutrition guidelines, as well as food and fire safety, are also covered. This approach has consistently garnered Chef Willis glowing feedback from his participants.
$75 per person
